PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and receiving inspections, document reviews, assist with gage setup/issuance, and when needed, first article inspections and statistical process control inspections. Lastly, this role will be critical in supporting the quality needs of the business. In matters concerning operations, the Quality Inspector II adheres to the policies, procedures and work instructions that comprise Space-Lok’s AS9100D quality management system.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow sampling plans, where applicable (SLQD-09-06ah)
Conduct first article inspections, when required (SLQD-09 and SLQD-09-02)
Apply stamp to shop order, log sheets and status tag (SLQD-09)
Verification of Calibration Status (SLQD-08)
Perform Statistical Process Control Inspection (SPC) activities, when needed (SLQD-09-06ai)
Review and approve outside processing purchase orders for proper flow downs (SLQD-05 and SLQD-09)
Perform and Process Receiving Inspection of outside processed parts (SLQD-06)
Perform Flight Safety Inspections, as required (SLQD-09)
Perform In-Process Inspection of completed operations (SLQD-09)
Perform Final Inspection for conformance to customer requirements (SLQD-09)
Review SPC Charts for conformity to customer requirements (SLQD-09)
Assist with Setup of Gages for use by Inspection, Production, or Issuing to Vendors (SLQD-08)
Interpret Shop Drawings and Operation Instructions (SLQD-09)
Perform Rockwell Hardness Testing, as required (SLQD-09-06ab)
Consult with Production personnel, as required (SLQD-09)
Participate in the internal audit program, as required (SLQD-14)
Perform Review of Completed Work Orders (SLQD-09-F078)
Adhere to Department Procedures and Work Instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Must be able to work weekends and extended hours at Month and Quarter End.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma
Experience in Manufacturing
1-3 Years Inspection Experience
Basic Math
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Higher level degree (Associates, Bachelor’s)
Formal, certified training or experience in Inspection Methodologies
Experience in Aerospace Fastener manufacturing and Quality Management Systems
Experience using InfinityQS SPC Software, ERP Software
Experience programming of Automated visual inspection systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of standing and walking on the shop floor.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
