POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems and lean manufacturing processes within a dynamic production environment. This role oversees the quality team, ensures compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, and drives initiatives that improve product quality, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in engineered metal products, process validation, and cross-functional team development.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on Quality Management and Lean Process Improvement. A background in engineered metal products, particularly tubing and machining in both high- and low-volume production, is essential. Candidates should be highly skilled in failure analysis, ISO 9001:2015 compliance, process/inspection planning, and corrective and preventive actions. A successful track record of leading cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and achieving measurable gains in cost, quality, and throughput is critical. Talent development, strategic decision-making, and the ability to guide teams through growth and change are also key components of this role.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant standards

Manage and develop the Quality team to meet departmental priorities

Train staff on Process Control Plans, Inspection Plans, Failure Analysis, Corrective Actions, and Process/Equipment Validation

Provide leadership in engineering and quality, fostering both individual and team growth

Drive lean product launches and process improvements using tools like FMEA, DOE, and CpK analysis

Develop systems to balance daily support, product launches, and improvement projects

Oversee internal audits, customer/ISO audits, and the performance of the Quality Council

Coordinate lean manufacturing projects with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement

Work closely with production and quality leadership to implement sustainable process enhancements

Track and report financial results tied to improvement projects and operational metrics

Create and conduct training programs on Lean tools and methodologies

Mentor and coach plant personnel on identifying and executing Lean initiatives

Act as a customer advocate on product and process quality issues

Manage nonconforming product, corrective/preventive actions, and released product compliance

Maintain quality databases, audit documentation, and related reporting

Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
8+ years of experience in quality and lean roles within manufacturing
Proven leadership of cross-functional and technical teams
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant standards
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, SPC, etc.)
