The Oracle Private Cloud Quality Engineering team is seeking a principal product quality engineer to join the fast-paced organization in streamlining and automating newly created product tests. As part of Oracle’s Cloud Core to Edge portfolio, the engineered systems offer a cost-effective solution for rapid, hybrid cloud deployment that is based upon Oracle Linux and Oracle VM technologies. Our product quality team manages many aspects of product testing including functional, system, and workload tests to certify that the product provides a unified, turnkey solution for customers with highest quality.
The candidate will be joining the exciting and challenge-driven team that supports the full cycle of system testing and automating of many feature tests of the product. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in architecting, designing, and implementing test automation using Python. The individual will be responsible for quality engineering of cloud services, storage systems, high availability, and applications in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The individual will play a key role in delivering highly critical technology in addition to supporting the development of internal test automation.
Qualifications:
6+ years of professional work experience in software test framework automation or infrastructure
Excellent knowledge of test automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools
Hands-on experience in testing and automating enterprise software
Experience serving as team lead and with the ability to mentor junior members of the team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to learn new methods
Outstanding collaboration and organizational skills
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
Creativity and innovation, fast learner and drive for results
Methodical approach and attention to details
Demonstrated skills in negotiation and conflict management
Experience with test automation development using Python
Understanding of Cloud computing, virtualization, hypervisors and cloud security
Experience with operations and testing of Linux and storage systems is a plus
MS / BS in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Review technical specifications on product features and utilize innovative test technologies to develop product and feature testing strategy
Architect test automation solutions that are based on best practices and newly available / proven test frameworks
Write test plans that provide high level test approach as well as detailed test scenarios on system component, data services, interfaces, and interoperability.
Design, implement, and automate test cases to ensure complete functional coverage of the appliance product
Capture detailed, thorough, and useful information and file bug reports and be able to clearly explain the issues to development team for further troubleshooting
Work closely with cross-functional project teams to develop project schedules, execute test plans and cases, and deliver high quality products
Deliver automated test suites into continuous integration test system and support the Pre-Integration Test and System Test
Contribute and deliver initiatives to improve the overall test process, such as identifying test gaps or inefficiencies in workflows; and suggesting improvements
