Position Description
We are seeking a full-time, staff Vice President, Quality and Continuous Improvement to join our Day & Zimmermann team.
The VP, Quality and Continuous Improvement will oversee the strategic direction of quality management within the Maintenance & Construction business groups and support other D&Z companies. Responsibilities include developing and implementing processes to ensure high standards of quality assurance and control across all activities, including NDE, Welding, Audits, Vendor Surveillances, Continuous Improvements, and regulatory compliance. The role involves extensive engagement with existing markets and exploring new markets beyond current Quality Programs.
The incumbent will manage and lead the Quality organizations in the US and Canada, supporting the PMO and Project and Market Sector Leadership teams. Key focus areas include developing project and quality programs, fostering Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement initiatives, and maintaining governance over ISO 9001 and other standards. The VP will oversee vendor audits, surveillances, inspections, and manage ASME/NBIC Code Stamp programs, including adding new Code Stamps for nuclear construction support.
Responsibilities:
Lead the DZMC Quality & Technical Support group, ensuring integration across all companies and sectors.
Establish capabilities for surveys and audits, ensuring compliance with Quality Programs and regulatory requirements.
Develop project and quality programs, including corrective actions and continuous improvements.
Implement monitoring and inspection frameworks to uphold quality standards and address challenges promptly.
Align quality programs with business objectives and supervise Code Stamp certifications.
Create and deploy advanced quality assurance processes, focusing on NDE, Welding, and regulatory compliance.
Skills Required:
Strong management and business acumen.
Extensive experience in construction quality and Quality Processes.
Subject Matter Expert with knowledge sharing abilities.
Effective communication and influence skills.
Experience in Nuclear, Fossil, Industrial, DOE, DOD, renewables, and ISO standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Technical Degree.
20+ years of quality-related experience in relevant industries.
Salary range: $176,960 – $265,440, based on experience and location. We offer comprehensive benefits including health coverage, paid leave, and voluntary benefits. Must be able to perform physical and mental tasks required for the role, with travel >50%.
