Warehouse QC Technician Jobs in Vancouver, Canada at Fresh-Direct-Produce

As a member of our Operations Team, you will foster a well‑organized product quality control process and cooler management. Weekend and holiday availability is required to meet operational needs, as Fresh Direct Produce operates 24/7.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES QUALITY CONTROL
- Assist QC leader with daily quality control and inspection for all incoming, in‑house, and outgoing products
- Identify quality issues in a timely fashion and then determine courses of action
- Conduct daily cooler walks and product quality checks
- Monitor the consignment inventory
- Assist with product grading and monitor all product disposal
- Assist QC leader with all CFIA requests and inspections
OPERATIONS
- Work with the Grading Team Leader to set benchmarks for grading efficiency
- Ensure proper cooler organization
- Product rotation via FIFO method (First in/First out)
- Assist with inventory count
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of experience in Food Safety or Quality Control inspection in Food Production or Manufacturing
- Extensive produce knowledge – local & imported products; retail produce experience is a definite asset
- Experience in repacking processes
- Use of electric pallet jacks and/or forklifts is an asset
- Detail‑oriented and methodical in documentation and processes
- Strong organizational skills
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment
- Hands‑on individual with a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in English (spoken & written)
PHYSICAL CAPABILITY
- Requires frequent walking and standing for extended periods of time
- Working inside and outside coolers
- Lifting and carrying of up to 40 lbs
- Operating a ride‑on powerjack
