About the Role
The role involves assisting or playing as Apple MQE, focusing on new product development and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Involve in new product development, work with Engineering and Technical team to conduct design and process maturity study, define product quality requirements and manufacturing control plan.
- Develop metrology on new product, conduct supply chain spec alignment, correlation activities.
- Drive Failure analysis, corrective action implementation plan, and yield bridge to mass production. Influence designs so that they are manufacturable.
- Review supplier’s quality control flow, in-process quality control system, in-coming components and out-going product’s quality control plan.
- Collaborate with multiple function teams, Engineering, Operations, and Quality within Apple as well as various suppliers during the new products builds at OEM supplier and final assemble sites.
- Partner with cross functional teams to evaluate process robustness at the concept phase.
- Develop Measurement technologies for Evaluation, Quality Plans, Reliability Test Plan, Cosmetic Inspection Criteria.
- Assist in implementing corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members.
- Provide support to the team in the area of leading suppliers by providing technical and quality requirements to establish and validate (utilizing statistical tools) process capability, incoming, in-process and outgoing quality control to the company’s standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Mechanical/Electro-mechanical/Industrial Engineering, PhD in Materials Science is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or Quality Control for high volume manufacturing products at international OEM partners.
Required Skills
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good English.
- Experience with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, textiles, leather, castings, plastic parts, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high volume manufacturing quality.
- Has passion to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment, must be a self-starter, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Has deep knowledge on quality management system structure, quality procedures, and the application of typical quality tools (e.g. MSA, FACA, SPC) and troubleshooting modes and driving corrective actions.
- Knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations, strong technical skills, i.e. problem solving, issue root causing, analytical skills.
- Be familiar with GD&T and have rich experience to apply the knowledges in actual work.
- Strong data analysis ability and Statistics Concept Expertise (Design of Experiments, ANOVA, Multi-Vari), able to utilise data analysis tools to discover the clues of inherence of data.
- Has professional project management skill and a deep understanding of problem-solving tools including design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with advanced quality control methodologies.
