Job Description:
Position Title: Quality Technician
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Position
Purpose:
The Quality Technician ensures quality goals are met through operational and analytical focus, attention to detail, defect detection, and corrective/preventive actions, working closely with the production department. This fast-paced role involves walking, standing, and multitasking.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain key indicators of product quality and safety through inspection, testing, and communication.
Promote maintenance of food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, allergen control, ingredient control, GMPs, document control, traceability, product quality reviews, and corrective/preventive actions.
Report deviations in quality processes to the Quality Supervisor.
Develop a hands-on understanding of plant processes and collaborate with team members to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
Ensure plant procedures align with quality policies and SQF standards.
Conduct testing and inspections according to plant procedures and specifications.
Support the maintenance of SQF certification.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of quality systems ensuring food safety and quality.
Strong interpersonal and documentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computing.
Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
At least 1 year of experience in quality systems within the industry.
Two-year or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred.
Experience with basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers, analyzers).
