The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the quality of incoming raw materials and 3rd party products purchased, quality of assembled products and the quality of outgoing shipments for the products produced, 3rd party sourced, and shipped by AFL. This role will work with Materials Management and Manufacturing Management to improve incoming quality, in-process quality and outgoing shipment quality. The role will involve some incoming inspection and verification by auditing of incoming materials and outgoing product shipments. The position will have administrative responsibility, preparing staff schedules based upon production demands, developing skills and coordinating the necessary training of staff, and reviewing, approving, and monitoring time and attendance of inspection staff. The individual selected must demonstrate strong growth potential and will support essential auditing, problem-solving, and continuous improvement activities. The position requires excellent organizational and people skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform incoming inspection/audit of raw materials and/or 3rd party products. Work with Materials Management on continuously improving incoming quality parts/systems from our suppliers
Perform the necessary audits of our suppliers rather than detailed incoming inspection of the parts. Process needs to be focused on audits, not on individual inspections. New suppliers, new revisions, and/or new parts must be on a qualification program then switched to audit only
Perform audits of outgoing products/shipments. Process must be to perform audits to improve shipping quality.
Schedule & maintain records that support calibration of the equipment in the facility that meets the requirements of the QMS. Work directly with Manufacturing Management to ensure equipment is in calibration at all times
Per the QMS system create, monitor and follow up with SCAR’s and CAPA’s with suppliers, shipping quality findings, and in process audits.
Be more of a leader in the operation for utilizing proper Quality/QMS procedures
Keep track of and follow through with resolution of RMA’s. Maintain records of RMA’s by month with CAPA’s as required for each incidence
Work directly with Manufacturing Management on implementation of SPC in the manufacturing process
Produce monthly metrics for NCMR’s, RMA’s, quality process audits, shipping audits, SCAR’s & CAPA’s, as well as others at the discretion of the Quality Manager.
Maintain 6S in work area
Completes tasks in a timely manner
Complete required ERP/Computer transaction & reports

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
2-5 years of working experience in manufacturing related industries.
Quality specific training preferred
Basic computer skills; must be proficient in MS word and Excel
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to analyze possible solutions for recurring problems, and communicate these issues with the appropriate personnel
Good written and verbal English communication skills required
