Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Manufacturing and Quality Engineer to join our team in the wire harness and cable manufacturing industry. This dual-role position will be responsible for both optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout production. The ideal candidate will have expertise in manufacturing engineering and quality assurance, with a focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Product ME functions:

Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for wire harness and cable production.
Focus on increasing process efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Work closely with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of wire harnesses and cables.
Oversee the selection, setup, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment such as wire stripping machines, crimping presses, and automated cable assembly systems.

Quality Engineering functions:

Oversee and optimize wire harness and cable manufacturing processes (cutting, stripping, crimping, insulation, and assembly) to ensure efficiency and product quality.
Investigate product defects and production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Delivering product development, customer quality requirements management and first article development.
Performing supplier audits & assessments.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing, non-conformances, and corrective actions. Provide regular performance reports to senior management.
Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standards (e.g., UL, ISO, RoHS) and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, which includes experience with NPI (New Product Introduction), a start-up facility, and/or a work transfer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering in wire harness and cable.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes like crimping, soldering, assembly, and testing of wire harnesses.
Experience with CAD software for design reviews and process planning.
Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9001

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
