The Aging and Long-Term Services Department provides accessible, integrated services to older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers to assist them in maintaining their independence, dignity, autonomy, health, safety, and economic well-being, thereby empowering them to live on their own terms in their own communities as productively as possible. Adult Protective Services investigations collect and assess information to determine whether the reported incident of adult abuse, neglect, exploitation, or self-neglect occurred. Investigations assess the immediate safety of the adult and the ability of the individual to self-protect and/or the caregiver’s ability to protect the adult; also, to assess whether the adult remains at risk for continued abuse, neglect, or exploitation and self-neglect. Finally assess the need for services, including short-term protective services.

Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for identifying and collecting information from various sources, using data analysis techniques to extract practical information from raw data, writing reports, communicating findings to other Division Director, Deputy Director, Regional Managers and employees, and advising in decision making. The role may also involve overseeing and working with the APS financial coordinator, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Assist with grant compliance and grant reporting. The incumbent in this position will: develop and implement data reports. dashboards, quality control systems and measures; conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards; identify areas for improvement; document results and maintain records for ongoing analysis; identify means of collaboration and stakeholder engagement opportunities to grow the division’s products/programs/services; standardize and train team members on quality control measures to enhance reliability; investigate customer complaints; analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system; report on quality metrics and performance to management; continuously study current and new client needs, trends and methods to improve quality to services and training.
How does it get done?
At the direction of the Division Director, the Data and Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for:
Collaboration and Project Support
- Work with the APS Division Director to identify and develop additional data and quality assurance projects that support program improvement and accountability.
- Provide input and technical expertise in research and grant-related activities, particularly regarding data tracking and reporting mechanisms. Developing and maintaining data dashboards.
- Collaborate with the Policy and Planning Director to ensure the data is designed to capture and display data in alignment with program goals, compliance requirements, LFC needs and state plan.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of experience directly related to the position in research, statistics, computer science, data analysis, accounting, auditing, finance, economics, business, public administration, budgeting, management, and/or systems analysis or related professional certification as determined by the hiring agency. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Background and business reference check and Driver’s License verification are required, and employment is conditional pending results.
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
