Job Overview

Are you passionate about improving data quality and helping teams get the most from digital systems? We are looking for a proactive Data Quality & Assurance Officer to join our growing Data Quality & Assurance team.

Reporting to the Group Data Quality & Assurance Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring clinical and operational data meets local and national quality standards. Acting as an expert system user, you will support colleagues, identify and resolve data quality issues, monitor trends, undertake investigations, and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

You will work closely with operational, clinical and digital teams, providing guidance, training and support to ensure compliance with procedures and service standards. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to system enhancements, process reviews and wider digital transformation initiatives.

We are seeking someone with strong communication and problem-solving skills, experience in an IT, administrative or healthcare environment, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services. Knowledge of NHS systems or data quality processes would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

  • Monitor data quality issues resulting from poor inputting practices.
  • Support and train staff to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Escalate non-compliance to appropriate managers.
  • Confidently make relevant data quality changes to the core PAS system.
  • Minimise service disruption and facilitate service restoration within agreed SLAs.
  • Proactively identify problem trends and work towards permanent solutions.
  • Support the lifecycle of problems from identification through root cause analysis to remediation.
  • Conduct process reviews and support IT solution implementation and improvements.
  • Attend meetings and workshops, working with stakeholder groups to achieve objectives.
  • Collaborate in planning, design, development, and deployment of new solutions and enhancements.
  • Undertake training to develop comprehensive knowledge of clinical/non-clinical applications.
  • Support and contribute to departmental decisions based on analysis and interpretation of new and emerging data quality situations.
  • Undertake administrative tasks relevant to the role.

Training, Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in IT or operational environment.
  • Good general education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering system support in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with staff to understand and resolve issues.
  • Experience planning and organising workload, meeting deadlines, and working to SLAs.
  • Familiarity with NHS clinical information systems (e.g., PAS, Order Comms, PACS).

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working with stakeholders and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Knowledge of current IT and clinical agendas, record keeping, and terminology.
