GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification to protect public health, natural water resources, and public infrastructure by enforcing federal, state, and local environmental regulations in relation to water quality discharges to the sanitary sewer and stormwater collection systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor,s degree in a field related to the job
- One (1) year of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs field inspections, documents findings and creates reports
- Collect and analyze water samples form sanitary sewer and stormwater collection systems
- Investigates complaints; enforces compliance and remediation as needed
- Reviews plans and/or permit applications and environmental risks; writes and issues permits as needed
- Creates and issues letter of warning, notice of violation and civil citation reference
- Communicates and collaborates with internal and external parties as needed
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Valid Driver’s license
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
