Overview
The Testing Lead will oversee the quality assurance and testing processes for GIS applications and data workflows, ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of Esri-based solutions. This role involves developing test plans, executing test cases, and managing the end-to-end testing lifecycle for GIS projects, with a focus on utilities and Esri technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for GIS applications and workflows.
- Lead the testing lifecycle, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for Esri-based solutions (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcFM, Utility Network).
- Validate data integrity, workflows, and configurations, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to identify and resolve defects and issues.
- Automate testing processes for data validation and workflow testing.
- Document test results, defects, and resolutions, maintaining a detailed testing repository.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices in GIS application development and data workflows.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on testing progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior testers, ensuring adherence to testing methodologies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on GIS applications and workflows.
- Strong expertise in Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcFM.
- Experience with utility network models and data workflows in the utilities domain (Gas, Electric, Water, Telecom).
- Proficiency in test automation and data validation.
- Knowledge of FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) for data transformation and testing is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps for test management.
