Information and Quality Assurance Specialist Jobs in Sherwood Park, Canada at Strathcona County

The Information & Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting RCMP operations by ensuring accuracy, integrity, and quality of operational data and records. This position reviews and validates operational files, Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) scoring, and data entry practices to ensure compliance with RCMP policies, directives, procedures, and national reporting standards.

Through data analysis, quality assurance activities, and the preparation of statistical and operational reports, this role identifies trends and data quality issues, provides expert guidance to members and staff, and helps drive informed decision-making, reliable reporting, and effective public safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all operational RCMP files to ensure the accuracy of the data entered in theRCMP systems to prevent any information from being incomplete,inaccurate or outdated
  • Review all filesthatare due to purge (date of destruction) at least two months in advance of the date to make sure that destruction date isaccurate, as per the retention periods that are set out by RCMP HQ Ottawa and the Federal Government
  • Validate and review all statistical scoring under the rules of the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS) and the RCMP to ensure the statistics areaccurateand complete
  • Produce spreadsheets of all Strathcona County RCMP statistics and forward to the Superintendent bi-annually showing both reported and actual offences
  • Draw ona high levelof systemexpertiseto coach andassistRCMP member sand staff, and provide assistance in answering questions and solving problems
  • Provide specialized training to members and staff as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Related post‑secondary specialized training/certificate and 5 years related work experience
  • PROS and Record Manager Certification
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in a high pressure,frequently interrupted environment
  • Ability to remain objective and diplomatic, exercise mature judgement andmaintainthe highest level of confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of the Data Quality and Assurance guide and RCMP Operational and Informatics policy
  • Understanding of legal liabilities and officer safety concerns with regardsto data kept inthePROS/NPlRSdatabase
  • Strongexpertisein the specialized PROS Record Manager function, must be proficient in UCR scoring and have knowledge of Canadian Crime Justice Statistics
  • Understandingofthe Criminal Records Act 6.1 and Youth Criminal Justice Act requirements under PROS
  • Proficient in RCMP and County software systems, including DQOR, NPIRS, MOVES, CPIC and JOIN
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Microsoft Wordand Microsoft Excel
