Job Description
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for certifying the quality, reliability, and performance of the software applications through a combination of manual and automated testing. This position will govern software quality throughout the development lifecycle, leveraging testing, validation, and defect management to ensure solutions meet business needs, technical specifications, and production readiness before go-live. This role leverages AI tools and technologies to improve overall operational effectiveness. The QA Engineer will work closely Product Management, Development, and Business Stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive testing of web and mobile applications, including functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing, while validating cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate business and technical requirements, ensuring application quality, stability, and readiness for production release
- Participate in Agile practices including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Assist in the execution and maintenance of automated test scripts and regression test suites.
- Support automation initiatives by identifying repetitive test cases suitable for automation.
- Review automated test results, analyze failures, and assist in defect investigation and troubleshooting.
- Perform API validation to support integration testing efforts, proper request/response handling, authentication and error handling
- Collaborate with development and product teams to document, and resolve defects, ensuring application quality, stability, and successful software releases.
- Interact with Stakeholders, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Developers.
- Support off-hours production releases to ensure no issues are uncovered upon deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of manual QA experience
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium or equivalent
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) practices
- Ability to effectively use AI tools and technologies to improve productivity and accelerate testing activities.
- API testing fundamentals (Postman or equivalent)
- Experience performing functional, integration, and regression testing of web applications and mobile platforms
- Proficient with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, Xray, Zephyr
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written, verbal, and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
