MW Company is located in the heart of Kansas City. We build wheels, WELD wheels are manufactured out of this location as well Powder Coating and design for our other brands. We are in need of a Quality Coordinator, to assist our QA Manager to ensure our product is always the best.
Please only apply if you have actually held a QA role in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive industry. You must have computer skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate with diverse teams.
SUMMARY
Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. This position also inspects and audits purchased, fabricated, and welded metal components and assemblies. This role will also inspect and audit powder coating parts. Review metallurgical and paint certifications for received materials. Conduct performance testing on painted products. Monitor process controls.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES
Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with Quality Manager or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Conducts inspections and test as assigned:
Inspects and/or tests at specified stages in production process, for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, physical characteristics.
Records inspections and test data.
Applies statistical quality control procedures to display and analyze data.
Evaluates inspection and test data and produces standardized reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Sets up and performs nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to
measure performance, or material characteristics.
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
Other duties may be assigned.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma
2 – 5 years of experience in the quality sector
Experience in the machining field is a plus
Proficiency in MS Office suite
Knowledge in the following areas:
Knowledge of process improvement principles
Problem solving skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Quality Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, 8D)
Negotiation Techniques
Project Management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Effectively develop communications (graphic, written and verbal skills)
Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting with multiple stairs and inclines and lift up to 25 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
