We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Software QA Engineer to join our software quality team in Bangkok. The role will focus on analyzing business scenarios, preparing test cases, executing manual testing, reporting defects, and supporting the team to ensure that software applications meet business and functional requirements before release.
This position is suitable for candidates who have a solid foundation in manual testing, good analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn and grow in a professional QA environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Scenario & Requirement Analysis
- Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Analyze business scenarios and user workflows to identify relevant test scenarios.
- Clarify unclear requirements with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA members, and developers.
- Identify possible edge cases, negative scenarios, and gaps in requirements with support from senior team members.
2. Manual Test Design
- Prepare manual test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on business requirements.
- Ensure test cases cover functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and basic negative scenarios.
- Maintain clear documentation of test cases and testing results.
- Support traceability between requirements and test cases.
3. Manual Test Execution
- Execute manual test cases according to sprint and release timelines.
- Perform functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, and re-testing after bug fixes.
- Validate software behavior against expected business outcomes.
- Record test results accurately and communicate testing progress to the team.
4. Defect Reporting & Tracking
- Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, screenshots, and supporting information.
- Work with developers and QA team members to clarify and verify defects.
- Track defect status and perform re-testing after fixes are completed.
- Highlight blockers or quality risks to the QA Lead/Senior QA when needed.
5. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with QA, Product, Business Analysts, Developers, and Support teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
- Provide clear updates on testing progress, open issues, and assigned tasks.
- Support UAT preparation and business validation activities when required.
6. QA Process Support
- Follow QA standards, testing processes, and documentation guidelines.
- Contribute to improving test coverage and testing efficiency.
- Learn and apply basic QA tools, testing methods, and best practices.
- Support the team in maintaining a high standard of software quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Good understanding of manual testing concepts, test case design, test execution, and defect reporting.
- Good ability to analyze business scenarios and translate them into test scenarios.
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum working environments is preferred.
- Experience using bug tracking or test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and improve continuously.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data checking or validation.
- Experience supporting UAT with business users.
- Exposure to automation testing tools is a plus, but not mandatory.
