Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and audits to ensure that our fastener products meet both customer specifications and regulatory standards. This role demands precision, an eye for detail, and a solid understanding of the quality control processes in the manufacturing of aerospace fasteners.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Testing:
Perform in-process and final inspections on fasteners and related aerospace components to verify compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
Utilize a variety of inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) where necessary to inspect materials and fasteners for defects and ensure reliability.
Documentation & Reporting:
Accurately document inspection results and quality control data.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and flag any non-conformance, discrepancies, or deviations from product specifications.
Communicate findings and collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager and production teams to resolve any quality issues promptly.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all products meet aerospace industry quality standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and other regulatory requirements specific to fastener manufacturing.
Review and interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and other documentation to ensure products are made to precise standards.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards throughout the production process.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement based on inspection findings and implement solutions to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Assist in the development and enhancement of quality control procedures, inspection processes, and best practices.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and management, to address quality concerns and continuously improve processes.
Provide training and guidance on quality assurance procedures to other team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or certification in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
3+ years of experience in quality inspection, particularly within the fastener, aerospace, or precision manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of quality assurance processes, inspection methods, and industry standards relevant to fastener production.
Proficiency in using measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify defects and discrepancies in fasteners.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other aerospace industry quality standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to document findings and report issues clearly.
