Manager of Quality Operations – Remote Jobs in Eden Prairie, MN at Optum
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpret engineering drawings, prepare graphs/charts and confers with design department to determine production quality.
Design, develop, and document product test setup using laboratory test equipment.
Interpret and/or develop attribute and variable gage studies per MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) guidelines or customer specific requirements to determine quality of the measurement system
Help develop process documentation (process flow, control plan, PFMEA, quality instructions, inspection sheets) to support new product launch and product engineering changes.
Help develop processes, checks, limit settings, and pokayoke checks.
Submit necessary statistical or capability data to customer on prescribed basis.
Help develop and document sort/rework procedures for suspect product.
Evaluate and procure necessary inspection and measuring devices to support new launch and existing product lines.
Participate in containment activity, internal and customer location(s) during quality spills including necessary travel to support.
Work on cost reduction and containment efforts:
Value added engineering analysis activities
Scrap reduction
Capability studies
Occasionally participate in cross-functional kaizen teams.
Implements permanent corrective/preventative actions (root cause), Process Mapping, FMEA’s, Design of Experiments (DOE), Numerical Evaluation of Metrics (NEM), Measurement System Evaluation (MSE) to improve new/existing processes and procedures.
Help perform data analysis to identify trends and potential areas of improvement.
Promotes and maintains a safe work environment.
Act as a contributor in reviewing business and technical requirements to develop Test Strategy and Test Plans – hands on testing will be required
Define Test Execution with complete traceability
Facilitate the completion of testing activities on time and within defined goals
Perform manual and automated testing
Coordinate warranty and turn part analysis
Other duties as assigned by management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of automated assembly, forming, welding, machining and painting processes.
Understanding of statistical analysis techniques for process control and monitoring.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, organizational skills, basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).
Ability to work well in a team environment, well organized, strong documentation skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to present data in prescribed method.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Experience in deploying Lean/Continuous Improvement in a high mix, high volume environment is preferred
Strong background in utilizing PFMEA and Control Plan for process improvements is preferred
3+ years of Quality Assurance experience
Proficiency with SQL database technologies and techniques
