🚀 We are hiring! Join LuxQuanta as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer 🌌🔬

At LuxQuanta, we are pioneering the Quantum Communications industry by delivering solutions that use the properties of quantum physics to secure communications. As we spearhead our international expansion after our first three years of solid growth, we invite passionate individuals to join us on our journey — helping us lead the fast-paced Quantum Communications market in Europe and beyond.

🛠️ About the Role

As Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you'll establish and continuously improve the quality systems that ensure our quantum hardware meets the highest standards of reliability, precision and compliance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. You'll combine deep technical expertise with structured problem-solving to enable scalable, repeatable, high-yield manufacturing in a genuinely cutting-edge deep tech environment — right as we transition from low-volume prototyping to scaled production.

📋 Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Quality Systems: Build ISO 9001/AS9100-aligned quality systems for quantum hardware, scaling from prototyping to volume production.
  2. Process Control: Run SPC and DOE across cryogenics, photonics, superconducting circuits and vacuum tech to drive yield and process capability.
  3. Supplier Quality: Qualify and audit suppliers of critical components (semiconductors, optics, cryogenics); own non-conformance resolution.
  4. Failure Analysis: Lead root cause investigations (SEM, X-ray, microscopy) and drive CAPAs to closure with R&D and engineering.
  5. Reliability Testing: Define test protocols and acceptance criteria for new products and process changes; support NPI.
  6. Cross-Functional Work: Partner with R&D and Operations to turn designs into manufacturable processes; support Sales on client audits.

🎯 Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field
  • 3–8 years in manufacturing quality engineering (semiconductors, photonics, precision hardware, aerospace or medical devices)
  • Proven track record taking products from prototype to volume production
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100
  • Hands-on with SPC, DOE and reliability testing
  • Familiarity with failure analysis tools (SEM, X-ray, microscopy)
  • Led 8D/FMEA investigations to resolution
  • Full professional English and Spanish
  • Strong plus: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification; scale-up experience

🎁 Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, private health insurance and ticket guardería
  • Lunch at the office for less than 2€
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work model
  • Short Fridays during the summer
  • Real opportunities for professional growth in a vibrant, multicultural team in Barcelona

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where every voice contributes to solving genuinely hard problems.
