Job Summary:
Visually monitor the Vision system screen for intruder in the seal indicated as a red circle. Visually inspect pouch seal area during cycles for product in the seal, creases, heavy and light bags, unformed pouches, seal fractures, seal failures pin holes, foreign objects, and red strips in film from splicing at Bemis. Ensure code date is being applied. Remove under filled and over filled pouches. Vacuum issues, too much air in the pouch from problems occurring on the Multivac equipment in order to ensure that the finished product meets customer requirements for packaging and package integrity. If time permits, retest rejected pouches at X-ray machine. If time permits, empty out trim reel. Help out with jam ups on the machine. Document Vision system rejects. Fill out pre-safety sheet and end of day shutdown.

Essential Job Functions:
Full understanding of the vision system screen (Product flow thru, flawed pouch detection, and removal zone of flawed pouches).
Can identify seal location of pouch.
Can identify/determine a flawed pouch seal with the following criteria: Product in the seal, creases, seal fractures, seal failures and successfully remove.
Can identify/determine a flawed pouch with the following criteria: Heavy and light bags (over filled and under filled) unformed pouches, pin holes, foreign objects, red strips, too much air volume inside the pouch due to machine issues and successfully remove.
Document the number of flawed pouches returned to the line.
Monitoring bag print legibility.
Empty trim reel when needed.
Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
Communicate ANY issues to the MV operator and maintenance.
Responsible for cross-department job sharing in areas such as: production, quality, warehouse, tank yard, and rework.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous production experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Should have good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to efficiently coordinate work with co-workers and take orders from superiors.
Awareness of the safety and official procedures for handling good and supplies.
Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
