Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical integration of weapon system components including launchers, guidance systems, and propulsion units.
- Develop and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems using CAD and simulation tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design compatibility and manufacturability.
- Support system-level testing, troubleshooting, and refinement during prototype and production phases.
- Prepare and maintain integration documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), assembly procedures, and configuration reports.
- Ensure compliance with defense standards (MIL-STD, ASME, ISO) and environmental constraints (shock, vibration, thermal).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis.
- Develop and implement quality assurance plans for weapon system development and production.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews of mechanical components.
- Monitor compliance with defense quality standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1916, ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Analyze test data and failure reports to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation including quality manuals, inspection reports, and non-conformance records.
- Support supplier quality management and incoming material inspections.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks related to technology, budget, schedule, and supply chain, and manage responses to ensure minimal impact on the project.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Select, manage, and evaluate external suppliers and contractors for the procurement of parts, materials, and services.
- Oversee the negotiation of contracts and monitor supplier performance.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, change orders, project plans, and progress reports.
- Ensure all relevant project documentation is organized and accessible for future reference and audits.
- Document technical findings, integration procedures, and test results for internal and customer use
Qualifications
Qualification :
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering.
And Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Experience: Minimum 8 -10 years of experience in weapon systems, defense, or equipment manufacturing with capability of quality assurance within aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and FEA software.
- Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with defense industry standards and protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, statistical process control, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with tools like Six Sigma, FMEA, and CAPA.
- Familiarity with regulatory and military standards.
