Duties
- Perform dimensional inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) such as PC-DMIS to verify parts against detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Program, operate, and maintain CMM equipment to ensure accurate measurement of complex components and assemblies.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on machined parts, tooling, and finished products utilizing precision measuring instruments like micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar software to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards, AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 to uphold quality assurance protocols across all inspection activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions aligned with quality control procedures.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, calibration logs, and non-conformance reports to support compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality control or mechanical inspection within manufacturing environments, especially involving machining or CNC operations.
- Strong proficiency with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), PC-DMIS software, and other precision measurement tools.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with industry standards including ASME codes & standards, AS9100 aerospace quality management system requirements, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 medical device standards.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machining processes, and calibration of measurement instruments such as micrometers and bore gauges.
- Experience programming CMM equipment like PC-DMIS or Calypso is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret CAD models from SolidWorks or other CAD software for inspection purposes.
- Excellent math skills for dimensional analysis and measurement calculations.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $32.00 – $40.00 per hour
