Support the existing Quality Assurance System by creating, developing, and executing the facilities quality system to ensure a safe and wholesome product that exceeds customer expectations. Develop and validate the facilities master sanitation program in compliance with good manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements.
Principal Responsibilities
Support the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Managers in implementing and updating the quality system, including HACCP.
Enforce high-quality standards, GMP compliance, and adherence to product specifications.
Oversee GMP enforcement on the plant floor and support sanitation efforts.
Maintain audit files meeting BRC standards for external audits.
Review product labels, cartons, and films.
Coordinate shelf-life studies, product testing, and evaluations.
Manage test blends and sample coordination with production.
Act as backup for QC technicians when needed.
Handle mailing of samples to external labs such as Merieux Nutrisciences.
Foster positive team relationships and ensure compliance with company policies to produce high-quality, food-safe products.
Support daily activities related to quality, food safety, and legality of products.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar problem-solving methodologies.
Strong interpersonal and management skills.
General laboratory experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
Key Metrics
Reduction in quality holds and rework.
High sanitation audit ratings.
Supporting product quality that exceeds customer expectations.
Effective liaison with quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation teams.
