Fisher Printing is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress & Quality Control Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring all customer files are properly prepared, reviewed, and processed for high-quality print production.
This position combines prepress production, file setup, and quality control, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up customer files for print according to specifications
- Perform preflight checks, trapping, and file corrections
- Generate and send PDF proofs for customer approval
- Review incoming jobs and electronically log all project details
- Ensure accuracy and quality of files before production
- Prepare mockups and proofs for internal and client approval
- Track, organize, and archive customer files for future use
- Monitor workflow through all prepress and production stages
- Maintain accurate production documentation and logs
- Assist in plate production and ensure correct plate counts
- Identify and suggest improvements to production layouts
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a prepress or print production environment
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Acrobat / PitStop
- Kodak Prinergy Preps (preferred)
- Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Experience with variable data printing (SmartStream)
- Experience in commercial printing
