Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician, Label Room, will be responsible for reviewing all contract customer labels, maintaining all label-related documentation and keeping an accurate inventory of roll labels. They will also be responsible for assigned Quality Assurance functions on the packaging lines and reviewing completed packaging documentation.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Follow all employee guidelines, practices, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that customer requirements and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations are met.
Assist in ensuring all personnel comply with cGMP regulations and follow standard operational procedures
Checks incoming labeling for accuracy with respect to content, text, spelling and overall aesthetics.
Issues labeling materials to packaging department, records label locations and amounts issued
Maintains labeling reconciliations and documentation as required by SOPs and GMPs
Coordinates the approval or rejection of all labeling as well as the destruction of current labeling inventory which may become obsolete.
Performs label counts using the rewind table and maintains locations, inventory in the system
Performs serialization labeling tasks as required
Maintains the label room in an organized, orderly manner
Initiates/reviews required labeling change controls or label updates
Refers all questionable labels and discrepancies to quality management
Assists in ensuring all personnel comply with label control systems and SOPs
Performs investigations of count discrepancies or reconciliations that are outside established limits
Performs assigned in process QA activities associated with production and packaging of products.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Knowledge of good documentation practices.
Basic knowledge of food/dietary supplement labels
Experience Required:
Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
0-3 years of experience in Quality assurance.
Skills / Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, SOP’s GMP’s, and government regulations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic math skills with the ability to apply some algebra.
Knowledge of Microsoft suite applications (excel, word, outlook)
Knowledge of basic office functions such as filing and scanning
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Average, ordinary, visual activity necessary to inspect, prepare documents and products or operate machinery.
Physical Strength:
Frequent walking, and occasional standing and sitting. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
Working Conditions:
About 10% of job duties are completed in an office setting. The other 90% of work may be performed in a Manufactuing environment wearing personal protective attire including a lab coat, hairnet, beard cover (if applicable), dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses. Hearing protection may also be required at times.
