About The Role
We are seeking a skilled QA Analyst to join our Keeper App team, focusing on the backend and platform testing of our enterprise-grade applications. This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans for APIs, services, and databases that underpin Keeper’s core products such as PEDM, Vault, and Admin Console. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL expertise, experience with API testing frameworks, and familiarity with cloud-based backend architectures like AWS and microservices. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA professionals to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our backend systems. This position is fully remote, offering flexibility for candidates based in the US, with potential for a hybrid schedule for those in El Dorado Hills, CA, or Chicago, IL.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of QA or software testing experience with a focus on backend and API testing
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and validating relational data
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI
- Familiarity with automation frameworks for backend and service-level testing
- Knowledge of cloud environments, especially AWS, microservices, and distributed architectures
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Locust (preferred)
- Understanding of secure coding, encryption, and identity protocols such as SAML and SCIM
- Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong communication and multitasking skills within Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- U.S. Person status (citizen or lawful permanent resident) due to GovCloud involvement
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and execute detailed test cases for backend services and RESTful APIs
- Validate MySQL queries, schema modifications, stored procedures, and data integrity
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for backend components supporting Keeper’s enterprise products
- Utilize tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks to automate and validate API behavior
- Assess system performance, scalability, and fault tolerance within distributed cloud environments
- Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and QA team members to identify, document, and resolve issues promptly
- Manage test tickets using Jira, document QA processes in Confluence, and report progress via TestRail
- Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines by integrating automated backend and API tests
- Ensure all QA activities adhere to Keeper’s security standards, including compliance with FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO requirements
