What You’ll Be Doing
The Quality Assurance Coordinator works closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team and liaises with BCCNM staff regarding licensee QA programs. Externally, the QA Coordinator liaises with licensees, consultants, contractors, employers, and contract assessors regarding the QA Program. A key focus of this role is to provide information, direction, support, and advice to internal and external contacts for all licensee quality assurance requirements and processes.
- Under the direction of the QA Program Manager, responsible for supporting day‑to‑day operations of licensee quality assurance including contacting and/or following up with licensees (telephone & email), monitoring email system issues; triage licensees to QA Program Manager or QA Consultant, and escalating issues/challenges for follow up.
- Assesses licensee data to determine if they meet quality assurance requirements, including monitoring of compliance; generates and compiles reports for review by the QA team.
- Assists in drafting materials for Peer Review in consultation with the QA Consultant.
- Collaborates with other QA team members to ensure that licensees complete quality assurance requirements in a timely manner.
- Liaises with licensees regarding issues, decisions, and required data, provides feedback and advice related to QA requirements, and monitors progress of licensees in quality assurance processes.
- Escalates problems or issues related to known workflows to the QA Program Manager for direction and/or resolution.
- Develops, documents, and implements work processes related to the operation of licensee quality assurance; liaises with the College’s staff to troubleshoot issues and ensure that the College’s website and QA database support the work of the QA team.
- Supports day‑to‑day operations of the QA Prescription Review Programs, ensuring appropriate application of processes and procedures, contact and/or follow‑up with licensees, and processing prescription pad orders and communication with external organizations.
- Maintains records and statistics; provides support to the development of related reports as required; aggregates and compiles qualitative and quantitative data and prepares relevant information to support review by QA program staff and leadership, QA Committee, and government.
- Participates in organizational and registrant quality assurance measurement, monitoring, improvement, and evaluation activities.
- Demonstrates commitment to ongoing learning related to Indigenous cultural safety and humility and supporting organizational actions towards addressing Indigenous‑specific racism in BC’s health care system.
- Demonstrates cultural humility and fosters an organizational culture that promotes mutual respect, teamwork, and service excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, health administration, education, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience related to health regulation or administration.
- Up to three years of experience in related positions.
- Excellent organization and planning skills to manage concurrent projects and meet timelines.
- Proven ability to think critically and act appropriately while ensuring that policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office; proficiency or demonstrated ability to become proficient in MS CRM Dynamics and MS SharePoint or equivalent online programs.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact and maintain good relations with colleagues, licensees, and other individuals and organizations both within and external to BCCNM.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
- Experience in an administrative, government or regulatory body environment is preferred.
- Ability to conduct quality audits, project evaluations, online survey processes, and develop web‑based forms an asset.
