Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on Manual Testing.
- Strong knowledge of backend testing methodologies and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience in RESTful and SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Experience in validating API responses, business logic, database consistency, and service integrations.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts (Oracle, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience in writing and executing comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Experience with defect management and test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, TestRail, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts and experience with at least one automation framework (Karate, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Capybara, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Ruby, Python, or similar languages is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps or GitLab is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-oriented mindset.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Job Description
- Design, prepare, execute, and maintain manual test scenarios and test cases for backend services and APIs.
- Validate business processes through backend service testing, API integrations, and database verification.
- Analyze functional requirements and identify test coverage for new features and enhancements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other QA engineers to ensure product quality.
- Support release validation activities and production verification when required.
- Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the maintenance and gradual improvement of existing automation frameworks where applicable.
- Ensure quality standards and testing best practices are consistently followed across projects.
