Experience Required
Minimum 10 years of garment quality control experience in sizeable companies, in which at least 3 years at managerial level.
Technical Skills
- Computer knowledge.
- Fluent in English / Chinese both oral and written preferred; Fair knowledge of Technical English can be considered.
- Good knowledge in apparel manufacturing process, quality control system, and total quality management approach.
- In depth technical, production and quality knowledge and expertise.
- Preferably with solid multi- products experience, like sweaters, cut-and-sewn knit, woven, denim, home textile, and fashion accessories etc.
- Relevant experience in a USA, Canada, or European retail buying office / agency / or trading company with a manufacturing background.

Ob Summary / Accountability:
Ensure product quality and safety from order placement to finished product, including implementing the company's goals, managing quality controls and processes, leading the QA team, overseeing corrective actions and continuous improvement. Deliver key projects, review QC capabilities, train and monitor vendors/factories, and align customer expectations with supplier competence. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Manage quality control & assurance :
- Monitor the factory with the QA team to initiate and drive Quality efforts towards achieving customer quality expectations and the external vendor/factory community.
- Monitor the Vendor Quality Performance Statistics, such as Vendor matrix reports and Vendor Quality Management (VQM) monthly reports, regularly taking action as and when appropriate.
- Provide root cause analysis and solutions to major quality issues, including customer complaints, customer returns, quality claims, and 3rd party final inspection rejections, capturing learnings for best practice sharing.
- Review and evaluate the QA/QC reports (PPM, In-line, Final, etc.) to ensure good product quality in the production meets the customer’s requirements.
- Assess the quality level of factories and their production techniques to ensure the products produced meet customer requirements.
Provide insight & risk assessment :
- Partner with the MR/ TD Teams during the new product development stage to conduct product Risk Assessments related to product complexity and factory capability, recommending solutions prior to the product’s order placement and manufacture.
- Provide insight and input on vendor and factory selection, supplier quality performance, etc. Implement the standards and processes:
- Contribute to developing and managing the customer’s quality and product safety standards.
- Contribute to updating, revising, and developing Contempo’s Quality Manual standards.
- Able to identify the root cause of quality failures and drive for a continuous improvement plan (CAP) in production.
Provide training and development:
- Conduct the new factory evaluations and provide guidance/training to the teammate to perform FE independently.
- Plan, promote, and organise training activities for our QA/QC staff to understand better customers’ quality requirements and techniques to deliver the expected results.
Collaborate & provide support to stakeholders :
- Issue QA activity reports to VPGQA that provide an overview of activities undertaken and highlight any issues or concerns.
- Work closely with all QA teammates in and across the regions to ensure an effective and efficient process capable of leveraging and sharing best practices. Assess the capabilities of subordinates and assign tasks according to their strengths and best use of workforce efficiency.
- Communicate with vendor and factory senior management teams on CAP-related matters that require significant improvement.
Organise meetings & monitor inspection status :
- Maintain and monitor the inspection status of the outstanding shipment (OS) and shipping status of orders across the regions.
- Prepare and organise meetings with cross-functional teams and external vendors/ factories such as VQM, QAMR meetings, QA Global Meetings, Quality meetings with vendors/ factories, QA/QC, etc.
Ad-hoc Support
- Support ad-hoc issues whenever necessary.
