This position is on-site based in Damascus Governorate, Syria.
Position Objective:
The QC Inspector (CSA) is responsible for implementing quality control inspection and testing activities for all Civil, Structural, and Architectural works on the data centre and technical building construction project. The role ensures that construction activities are carried out in strict accordance with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable international and local standards, and that all quality records are maintained to the standard required for close-out and handover.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Implement the project Quality Control Plan for all CSA construction activities, including earthworks, concrete works, structural steel erection, masonry, waterproofing, architectural finishes, external civil works, and raised access floor installation.
- Review and verify that all CSA works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and method statements prior to and during construction.
- Inspect incoming materials on site for conformance with approved submittals, test certificates, and material specifications, including reinforcement steel, structural sections, aggregates, cement, waterproofing membranes, and architectural finishing materials.
- Monitor concrete production, placement, and curing activities, coordinating independent testing of concrete mix designs, slump, and compressive strength in accordance with project specifications.
- Witness and document non-destructive testing (NDT) activities for structural steel welds, including visual inspection, and ultrasonic testing (UT) as specified.
- Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any works or materials found to be non-compliant, and track corrective and preventive actions through to satisfactory close-out.
- Maintain complete and accurate QC inspection records, test reports, material certificates, and photographic evidence for all CSA scope, ensuring full traceability from receipt to installation.
- Participate in QC audits and reviews conducted by the client, company, or external quality bodies, supporting audit finding close-out activities.
- Prepare daily QC inspection logs and contribute to weekly QC status reports submitted to the Site Manager.
- Verify that As-Built drawings for CSA scope accurately reflect works executed on site and support the compilation of the project close-out dossier.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Minimum 8 years of QC inspection experience on major building or infrastructure construction projects, with at least 3 years on data centre or mission-critical or mega infrastructure projects.
- Good working knowledge of relevant construction standards and codes.
- Familiarity with ITP-based quality management systems and the ability to prepare, review, and execute inspection checklists.
- Experience issuing NCRs, conducting root cause analysis, and managing corrective action close-out.
- Proficiency in maintaining electronic QC inspection records and document control systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to interface professionally with contractors, client representatives, and third-party inspectors.
- Full professional proficiency in Arabic is required; a working knowledge of English is an advantage.
