The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific BLHI projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established minimum standards. The role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process, working with in-house personnel (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
Job Duties:
Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports.
Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications, both through direct review and leveraging the knowledge of the project team when necessary.
Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent, providing written minutes as described in project-specific contract documents.
Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities conforming to each project’s standards and address non-conformances promptly.
Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care for each feature of work, ensuring checklists are used and signed off before proceeding with critical tasks.
Verify and document that all received materials conform to approved submittals, are handled and stored properly, and are acceptable for use.
Schedule, document, and maintain logs of all inspections, correcting and re-inspecting non-conformances before covering up work.
Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify work aligns with contract documents and approved submittals.
Document final inspections, certificates of occupancy, and acceptance of work phases.
Stop work if necessary to resolve safety, quality, or workflow issues.
