About the Role
In the era of AI-driven development, your role as a Test Lead will focus on designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to establish testing best practices, manage test activities, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure alignment of project objectives. You will play a critical role in driving client satisfaction and delivering successful project outcomes.
You will be instrumental in leveraging/defining AI-enabled tools and insights to improve test coverage, efficiency, and defect detection.
You will also support business development activities and key opportunities within the Quality Engineering practice. In this role, you will support development of high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters through exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, document, and maintain overall test strategy, test plans, and test approaches for projects and releases.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications and APIs.
- Drive testing activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring quality is built in from requirements through to deployment.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication of quality risks.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support fast and reliable delivery.
- Contribute to test estimation, risk assessment, and release readiness decisions.
- Review requirements and technical designs to identify gaps, ambiguities, and testability concerns early.
- Support performance, security, and non-functional testing where applicable.
- Champion best practices in quality assurance, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on testing standards and automation practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Core Technical Skills
- Test Automation: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.
- Programming/Scripting: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- API Testing: Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent API testing tools.
- Test Management: Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools.
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar pipelines.
- Version Control: Git, GitHub / Azure DevOps Repos.
- Databases: Basic SQL knowledge for test data validation and troubleshooting.
- Reporting & Monitoring: Test reporting, defect tracking, and quality metrics.
Optional / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Web Technologies: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM, and browser behavior.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or Gatling.
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as SpecFlow.
- Exposure to contract testing, accessibility testing, or cross-browser testing.
- Experience testing microservices, cloud-based applications, or enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools or intelligent test generation approaches.
- Experience in driving QA strategy across multiple teams or large-scale transformation projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in software testing, with a proven focus on automation.
- Demonstrated ability to define and implement test strategy across projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive quality outcomes in an Agile environment.
