The Quality Technician I supports quality control and assurance processes within the company. This entry-level role assists with inspections, testing, data collection, and documentation to ensure products or services adhere to established quality standards and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct quality control checks per Work Instructions (WI) on raw materials, semi-finished goods, and final products.
Track variations in rejected raw materials and scrap products throughout production, perform statistical evaluations, and collaborate with management to define corrective actions.
Recommend WI improvements to minimize scrap and enhance finished product performance.
Strengthen analytical capabilities for process improvement.
Continuously support and train production staff on WI, quality, and process concerns in coordination with management.
Perform final inspections of finished goods, conduct defect analysis, and create Pareto charts for defects.
Train backend personnel on identifying and communicating quality defects.
Generate statistical analyses and reports on raw material and finished product quality as needed.
Operate and maintain measurement instruments in compliance with WI and safety guidelines.
Audit operations, proposing enhancements to quality control tools used in production (vision systems, EL test, Sun Simulator, HiPOT, etc.) and in the QA room.
Manage, maintain, and calibrate measurement instruments in both the production line and QA room.
Assist in preparing reference modules for solar simulator calibration in collaboration with PTs and TLs.
Work with certified laboratories to develop “Master Modules” as required.
Suggest methods to enhance finished product traceability.
Communicate with suppliers and customers as needed.
Assist management in producing and maintaining documentation required for the Quality Manual in compliance with ISO standards.
Provide hourly reporting to management via email.
Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Quality Manager.
Skill
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to seek assistance.
Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office, Excel, and statistical software.
Strong understanding of problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5Why’s, and Fishbone analysis.
Effective team collaboration skills.
Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge to problem-solving.
Experience with reading blueprints and GD&T drawings.

Education and/or Experience
Experience in a technical role within manufacturing.
Prior PV module manufacturing experience is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
$23-26/Hr
