Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our aerospace team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace software development, familiar with standards like DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A, and extensive experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), configuration management, and FAA certification processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply DO-178C/DO-254 guidelines throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for aerospace systems.
Lead and participate in Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR) to ensure compliance with safety and certification standards.
Contribute to FAA certification audits including SOI1, SOI2, SOI3, and SOI4, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
Review and validate Software Planning documents, System requirements, Software requirements, Design, Code, Test artifacts, and other software and system lifecycle data.
Implement and manage configuration management plans for aerospace systems, ensuring proper version control and traceability across software and hardware.
Utilize Polarion or other ALM tools to manage requirements, defects, and test activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 processes and aerospace quality standards.
Provide continuous feedback and suggestions to improve software development processes, ensuring a high standard of quality assurance practices.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Quality Engineering within aerospace or safety-critical industries.
Deep understanding of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and other relevant standards in the aerospace industry.
Hands-on experience with Polarion or other Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
Proficiency in Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Change Management processes.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system.
Strong ability to review software and system lifecycle documentation, including requirements, design, code, and test artifacts.
Proven experience with FAA certification processes and audit support.
Knowledge of aerospace configuration management and change management processes.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
Experience with DO-178B, DO-254, and SOI audits.
Certification or training in AS9100 or related aerospace quality management systems.
