Job Summary
At Gummynology, we take the science of gummy manufacturing seriously! We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to join our production team. In this role, you will oversee quality standards across our entire gummy production line—from incoming raw ingredients to pectin cooking, depositor operations, curing room monitoring, and final packaging.

Key Responsibilities
- In-Process Line Audits: Conduct routine checks across the gummy production line, including prep, cooking, depositing, drying rooms and final packaging.
- Product Testing & Quality Checks: Measure and record critical process parameters such as Brix, pH, water activity, gel strength, piece weight, color, flavor, and texture.
- Environmental & Food Safety Controls: Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, HACCP, and Allergen Control guidelines across all cleanroom and processing areas.
- Receiving & Raw Material Inspection: Inspect incoming active ingredients, pectin bases, flavorings, and packaging materials to ensure they match Certificate of Analysis (CoA) specifications.
- Hygiene & Sanitation Audits: Perform pre-operational line clearances, ATP sanitation swab tests, and monitor employee hygiene/PPE compliance.
- Defect & Non-Conformance Management: Immediately flag, log, and isolate out-of-spec batches, misshapen gummies, or weight variations; generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist in root-cause analysis.
- Batch Record Review: Maintain meticulous inspection logs, production records, and traceability documentation required for FDA and internal audit standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of QA/QC experience (cGMP environment a plus).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with gummy-specific testing (Brix refractometers, pH meters, water activity meters, analytical scales).
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) under 21 CFR Part 111 / 117.
- Core Competencies:
- High level of accuracy, sensory awareness, and keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with operators and management.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and stand for extended periods on the plant floor.
