Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:
Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of processes, materials and products. Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, and/or integration to assure the quality of products.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Performs quality engineering reviews of blueprint drawings and inspection documents for compliance with stated requirements.

Maintains inspection tooling, test fixtures and their inventories.

Conducts and maintains First Article Inspection Reports.

Conducts internal and vendor audits to ensure compliance with documented procedure.

Monitors quality objectives and prepares reports for review.

Generates and follows up corrective actions as required.

Monitors delinquent corrective actions and makes follow-up with appropriate party as required.

Participates in customer complaint resolution.

Conducts quality training as required. Completes Customer mail audits as required.

Qualifications

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and customers/vendors.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be computer literate have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Degree or equivalent from four (4) year college or technical school. Five (5) years related quality engineer experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
