Job Overview:
The Quality Control Technician monitors plant processing operations and programs relating to food safety, HACCP, and regulatory issues. This position performs a variety of technical inspections and testing and monitors tasks to detect processing, manufacturing, or other defects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform quality inspections of products before public release. The focus is on ensuring products are following food safety regulations and internal standards.
· Will operate under good manufacturing practices (GMP) and be familiar with the HACCP system.
Observe and report all food product deficiencies.
Participate in conducting plant audits and third-party audits.
Perform manual and automated quality testing, analyzing, and recording related results.
Inspect production equipment and machinery to ensure they are operating efficiently.
Collaborate with other production departments to ensure the production process runs smoothly.
Inspect raw materials so ensure they meet the specifications for the shape, size, and quality.
Enforce BRC, HACCP, SOPs and product specifications.
Test finished products and raw materials for compliance with industry food specifications and standards.
Manage point step process review, label and materials review, and QA approval of documentation control, line clearing, and process deviations.
Work within a team structure to achieve PCB and Department goals.
Be accurate when collecting product data samples.
Conduct data analysis and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with all MS Office Suite programs Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience enforcing SOP and product specifications.
Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional leadership characteristics, communication skills, and ability to interact with management and employees.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Ability to use Microsoft word, excel and databases to interact with customers, suppliers, auditors, and technical support groups.
Demonstrate the Qualified Individuals responsibilities for Preventative Controls
Strong mathematics and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
Follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs., stand on feet for prolonged periods of time and climb stairs as needed.
Equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection.
Seasonal temperatures can be expected.
Must wear and use all protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
