Vallum Associates are partnered with one of the largest Data Centre Contractors operating across EMEA/Nordics.

Our client is hiring a experienced QA/QC Mechanical Manager to lead all mechanical quality assurance and quality control activities on a large-scale engineering and construction project. This role is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the mechanical QA/QC strategy, inspection plans, and quality procedures.
  • Oversee quality control throughout the installation of key mechanical systems, including:
  • HVAC systems
  • Cooling and distribution pipework
  • Fuel systems
  • Fire protection and suppression systems
  • Coordination with building management and control systems
  • Review and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality documentation.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
  • Coordinate closely with subcontractors, consultants, project teams, and commissioning personnel to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Support and oversee testing, commissioning, and integrated system verification activities.
  • Identify, investigate, and close out non-conformances and quality-related issues.
  • Ensure the accurate preparation and completion of handover documentation, including as-built records and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Support client inspections, witness testing, and project handover activities.
  • Promote a proactive culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in mechanical QA/QC, mechanical engineering, or construction delivery.
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services and critical mechanical systems.
  • Experience with cooling systems, pipework installation, and mechanical plant.
  • Good understanding of recognised industry standards and quality management principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Practical knowledge of testing and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and quality control procedures.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
