Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance Manager role based in Minto, NSW.

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the site's Quality Management System, ensuring all products consistently meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards.

The role will lead food safety and quality programs including HACCP, GMP, environmental monitoring, allergen management, supplier approval, traceability, corrective actions, and audit readiness. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Operations, Procurement, Product Development, and Leadership teams to drive compliance, improve product quality, and maintain a strong food safety culture throughout the business.

Key responsibilities include managing customer and certification audits, investigating quality incidents, conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventative actions, monitoring quality performance metrics, and supporting the ongoing growth of the business and its manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality systems including HACCP, GMP, SQF, FSANZ standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management Systems within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing certification, customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Experience with supplier quality management, risk assessments, validation, verification, and traceability programs.
  • Strong understanding of documentation control, change management, and audit readiness.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience training, coaching, and influencing teams across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Safety leadership role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Experience within private label, contract manufacturing, or high-volume food production environments will be highly regarded.
