Role Description
This full-time, on-site role in Bilzen is for a Quality Assurance & Materials Testing Specialist.
Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the local QA/QC process in production and ensure that quality standards, procedures and control plans are correctly followed on the shop floor
- Perform and follow up quality inspections for ongoing production, including crates and related injection-moulded products
- Coordinate daily quality topics with Production and help resolve quality issues
- Analyse quality deviations, internal non-conformities and customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Manage non-conforming products, including containment, disposition and follow-up
- Test, evaluate, validate and document new or changed materials, including raw materials, regrind and masterbatch
- Assess material properties, processing behaviour and their impact on final product quality
- Conduct and document product and material testing, including visual, dimensional, mechanical, thermal, functional and durability testing
- Cooperate with Production and Process Engineering during material trials, validation activities and process changes
- Maintain and update local QMS procedures, work instructions and quality records
- Support internal, customer and certification audits and follow up on audit findings
- Prepare quality reports and cooperate with Group Quality on standards and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in plastics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering or another relevant technical field, or equivalent through experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA or QC within a production environment, preferably injection moulding
- Practical knowledge of plastics and plastic processing, including PE, PP, masterbatch and regrind materials
- Experience with product and/or material testing methods and related documentation
- Ability to assess material behaviour and its influence on production process and final product quality
- Experience with material trials, validation or laboratory testing is an advantage
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards, preferably ISO 9001
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions and non-conformity management
- Hands-on, structured and proactive mindset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and take ownership of local quality topics
- Good communication skills and ability to work with operational teams
- Dutch and English language knowledge
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel
