About the Position:

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be the key point of contact for the Quality Management System (QMS) at a manufacturing facility, ensuring departmental compliance by promoting and maintaining adherence to QMS standards.

Responsibilities:

Develop and disseminate best practices for the QMS unit, enhancing QMS knowledge within the department to ensure understanding and compliance.

Design, create, and maintain a system linked to all computer-based quality applications, minimizing risks to the QMS.

Establish and maintain departmental documentation systems and requirements in accordance with relevant quality standards.

Manage document control and retention for the QMS unit.

Communicate QMS activities and updates to department leadership.

Lead internal reviews to evaluate production systems, processes, and QMS requirements, initiating best practice reviews.

Lead departmental execution of internal and external audits, acting as the point of contact for external auditors.

Analyze audit findings to identify system gaps and implement corrective actions.

Lead problem-solving and corrective action activities to drive continuous improvement.

Manage the department’s record retention system.

Develop the capabilities of self and colleagues through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Desired Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Conflict resolution and consensus-building abilities.

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to respond effectively to production floor needs.

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of relevant industry guidelines.

Strong time management and multitasking skills.

One year of auditing experience.

Additional Position Details:

Occasional travel for training and support may be required.

Overtime, including daily, weekly, and holiday work, may be required.
