SUMMARY:

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for executing, and supporting the overall quality system that addresses all elements of the supply chain. This person will focus on supporting the supplier base and internal incoming inspection process, through formal problem-solving techniques, driving continuous improvement and working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure long-term success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create standardized inspection criteria for QC inspectors, to be clear and defined, and with measurement data collection.
Participate in the daily MRB review meeting and in accordance with the NCMR and DMR process.
Support with the improvement of metrology for the in-coming inspection process, by helping to gather the right metrology for the inspection.
Collaborate with purchasing, to support the supply base with all Quality related affairs.
Collaborate with engineering to improve engineering and drawing specifications, for in-coming inspection and suppliers.
Work with suppliers for a robust root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions, via SCAR process.
Conduct supplier on-site audits and visits to assist improve supplier quality metrics.
Support the RMA process, with investigation and disposition for the RMA, without delays.
Gather the DMR and other Quality data to support the supplier scorecard process.
Support current suppliers phase out plans, and new supplier phase in to improve overall supply chain performance.
Support the root-cause investigation with supplier caused quality issues, that arise from customer complaints.
Collaborate with Engineering to define parameters/criteria/tolerances to align supplier’s capability with product requirements closely.
Help Develop, Document, Maintain, and Interpret Parts Marking, Cleanliness Preservation, Parts Packaging, Cable, and Workmanship Specifications.
Document, Issue, and Resolve Audit Related Corrective Action Requests.
Execute responsibilities in a professional manner, which includes performance being timely, accurate, objective, comprehensive, without prejudice, with a high degree of technical merit, and in support of organizational objectives and customer expectations
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively work with cross-functional-teams as a facilitator, and action taker.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in an intelligent manner in expressing the requirements and objectives of the organization.
Advanced problem-solving skills, to include an understanding of group dynamics, advanced statistical inference, and the use of project management methodologies.
Ability to organize, conduct, lead, and facilitate meetings as necessary in support of organizational requirements and objectives.
Ability to organize, plan and execute job responsibilities in an efficient and professional manner.
Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and other technical documents that define supplier and customer requirements.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Products and other quality and statistical tools.
Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally and externally with vendors and customers as required
Ability to compile and analyze technical data, write reports and procedures and present technical information to various groups as required
