Section 1: About the role
The role will support UK & International Key Accounts / Own Brand customers and main catalogue lines. Communicating with external QA/QC teams, FE Teams and UK Trade Customers to ensure the best outcomes whilst working within QC/QA guidelines.
The role also supports internal stakeholders, including the Sales team, by checking product data and technical information to ensure accurate and consistent communication of product details. Additionally, the role will support the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
Section 2: Key Responsibilities
70% – General Administration
Responsible for proactively assuring that merchandise meets or exceeds established quality standards.
Execute various activities within the product specification validation and item approval process.
These activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Review and documentation of product packaging.
- Validation of product attributes & specifications.
- Checking and verifying product data within internal systems.
- Coordination and monitoring of sample flow.
- Complete and accurate documentation of review findings and reporting of results.
Support the development and maintenance of technical specifications including QA and Regulatory requirements (as needed).
Interface with QA Teams in all markets.
20% – Sales Support & Technical Information
- Support the Sales team by checking product specifications and technical data within internal systems.
- Provide accurate and timely responses to product-related queries based on available data.
- Ensure information provided is consistent with approved specifications and documented requirements.
- Escalate queries where further technical clarification is required.
10% – Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned
- The ability to organise self, and others within the team, with focus on meeting critical path deadlines.
- Establishing strong working relationships with, and being a key support to FE Teams and Overseas Suppliers.
- Support the Head of Quality in maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Assist with internal audit activities, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Receive training to develop knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, with the opportunity to progressively support and participate in internal audits.
- Maintain ISO documentation within internal systems, ensuring records are accurate, up to date, and properly controlled.
Section 3: Critical Skills/Knowledge
- Problem solving ability, in terms of detecting issues, basic root cause understanding and problem prevention.
- Basic knowledge of consumer product regulatory requirements (Lighting Preferred).
- Working knowledge of quality requirements, fundamentals, tools and processes.
- Ability to review and understand product specifications and technical information.
- Good attention to detail when checking and validating data.
- The ability to organise self and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Establishing strong working relationships with FE Teams and Overseas Suppliers.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and the Internet (AI would be an advantage).
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements (or willingness to learn).
- Knowledge of EPREL and Energy labelling (ERP) would be an advantage.
- Chinese / English speaking (if possible).
- Knowledge of waste management would be an advantage.
Section 4: Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Relevant experience may be substituted for a portion of the education requirement
Minimum Experience:
3+ years of experience working in a quality role/ department
Experience following and understanding of the relationship between the key product features and the business needs
Preferred Experience:
QA or Product experience in the Retail or Consumer Product industries
Exposure to ISO 9001 or quality management systems would be an advantage
