Primary Purpose of Role: The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to manage quality assurance aspects of production processes within company policies.
Key Responsibilities: Work within the company policies to manage the quality assurance aspects of new product introduction. Provide quality input on engineering documentation for manufacturing products or services to ensure compliance of customer requirements. Coordinate activities associated with “first article build” of new products, ensuring that fabricated items are traceable to documented standards at the time of release of product into the production mode. Develop test methods/procedures to support product validation efforts. Determine and procure inspection equipment required for validation of customer requirements. Perform validation tests (Gauge R&R, Cp/Cpk, etc) to meet customer specifications. Generate test reports (Gauge R&R, Cp/Cpk, etc) of performance validation tests. Create dimensional data sheets to capture customer requirements during the manufacture of products or services.
Additional Responsibilities: Maintain housekeeping at and around department. Apply 6s principles to all areas of the plant. Wear all personal protective equipment necessary to task and area. Follow all quality systems and AeroGen-TEK operating procedures as applies to certifications, duties, and training matrix. Follow all AeroGen-TEK rules and regulations, including safety rules. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications and Experience: BS/BA in engineering, math, statistics, technical or related field. May substitute experience for education. Professional certification as CQE preferred. 3-5 years quality control or quality assurance (R); 3-5 years implementing and maintaining statistical process control (R); 3-5 years performing quality data analysis and employing statistical problem solving (R); 2-3 years as training instructor on statistical tools (P). Coordinates continual improvement work groups and SPC methods. Provide managers and supervisors with detailed analytical studies and reports on data relative to complex quality issues or problems throughout the manufacturing process. Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities. Understanding of aerospace and ISO 9000 quality policies, basic Quality engineering principles. Ability to work well in a team environment. Access to our facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents of the United States, and properly licensed foreign persons.
