The Quality Control and Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for ensuring product and process conformance while identifying and leading improvements that reduce defects, variation, waste, and recurrence of quality issues.

This is a hands-on position, working in the manufacturing area, performing QC inspections at the designated frequencies and ensuring procedures are established and being followed.

Responsibilities:

The Quality Control and Process Improvement Specialist will be responsible for:

· Performing in-process inspections at designated frequencies to ensure products conform with quality guidelines;

· Implementation of improvements and maintaining a standard of excellence of the quality program for all finished products, raw materials, and processes;

· Auditing operator compliance with established procedures;

· Verify that established machine settings are being used in production;

· Identifying opportunities for improvement, and then developing, implementing, and tracking improvement activities;

· Perform in depth defect root cause analysis and identify appropriate corrective measures;

· Identify appropriate quality metrics, track, and report to the management team;

· Review new business opportunities to understand their specific quality requirements;

· Maintain compliance with SQF and HACCP programs.

Qualifications:

· Familiarity with SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements;

· Experience in quality programs and quality management;

· Experience in flexible packaging operations (printing, lamination, and converting);

· Proficient in writing comprehensive reports;

· Good verbal communicator;

· Thirst for continued educations through independent studies.
