Quality Control Associate
BIOGRUND US – Shelbyville, KY
BIOGRUND US, part of a global excipient manufacturer headquartered in Switzerland with operations throughout Europe and North America, is seeking a Quality Control Associate to join our growing Quality Team.
We are looking for a precise, organized, and self-motivated individual who takes pride in producing accurate and reliable work. This hands-on position focuses on testing incoming raw materials and finished BIOGRUND products to verify that they meet established specifications and quality requirements.
Previous laboratory or quality control experience is preferred but not required. We can teach the necessary technical knowledge and testing procedures to the right candidate. However, attention to detail, dependability, organization, personal responsibility, and a genuine commitment to quality are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing of incoming raw materials
- Test finished BIOGRUND products according to established specifications and procedures
- Prepare samples and perform physical and analytical laboratory tests using different testing methods and equipment
- Accurately document test procedures, observations, calculations, and results
- Compare results against specifications and promptly communicate any unusual or nonconforming findings
- Prepare, label, organize, store, and retain laboratory samples
- Maintain organized laboratory records and quality documentation
- Keep laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow written procedures, quality standards, and applicable safety requirements
- Support the investigation of quality concerns and out-of-specification results
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other departments
- Assist with other responsibilities within the Quality Department, which may include:
- Preparing documentation for customer and certification audits
- Supporting internal and external audit preparation
- Collecting and reviewing supplier qualification documents
- Organizing certificates, specifications, and other quality records
- Supporting raw-material and finished-product documentation
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects
- Performing other quality-related tasks as needed

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Biology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Previous laboratory, quality control, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, chemical, or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required
- Comfortable performing hands-on work with powders, samples, and laboratory equipment
- Strong attention to detail and basic analytical skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and accurately record results
- Basic mathematical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with controlled documentation or quality systems is a plus
Compensation
- $35,000–$45,000 annual base salary, depending on experience and qualifications
- Performance-based bonus opportunity
