Position Overview

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying that purchased parts, in-process work, and finished products meet our exacting quality standards before they reach our customers. This role performs dimensional and visual inspections, maintains calibration and documentation compliance, and supports the AS9100D quality management system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable reading engineering drawings and GD&T, and committed to maintaining the accuracy and traceability our customers require.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good arithmetic skills are required
  • Mechanical aptitude desired
  • 2+ years Quality Control experience in Receiving Inspection is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) callouts per ASME Y14.5
  • Working knowledge of precision measurement instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial/digital indicators, thread gauges, and surface plates; CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) experience a plus
  • Familiarity with AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements
  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 a plus
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience with ERP/QMS software preferred (ProShop experience a plus)

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shift
  • Monday – Friday
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • Overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods on a manufacturing shop floor
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
  • Near vision sufficient for precision inspection work; corrective lenses permitted
  • Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection where posted)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical, and/or electrical measurements.

2. Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required, documenting findings through the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.

3. Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.

4. Accurately document the results of inspections and testing in the company’s QMS/ERP system (ProShop).

5. Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.

6. Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures.

7. Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.

8. Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOPs for the inspection function.

9. Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.

10. Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to their supervisor.

11. Work with production management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback to assemblers and machinists regarding accuracy of assembly and machining procedures.

12. Perform review of Device History Records (DHRs) and other documentation for compliance with established procedures and Good Documentation Practices.

13. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 as required by customer or contract flow-down requirements.

14. Follow all Gurecky Manufacturing Policies and Procedures and the Quality Management System requirements, including AS9100D and ITAR compliance obligations.

Pay: $21.00 – $27.00 per hour
