Become A Quality Control Inspector
ICOP is searching for candidates who are interested in gaining experience in the construction industry or those already in construction and interested in developing into a Foreman role by initially working in Quality Control (QC).
Earnings Potential: You earn travel time to each project, $60/day meal assistance, and then travel time to get home two weeks later. Your hotel room is paid for, and in addition to your hourly rate, you are working consistent overtime. Our rate of pay is generally between $21 and $26/hour, depending on your experience. $880/week – $22 x 40 hours
$330/week – $30 x 10 hours overtime
$110/week – based on 5 hours of travel time each week
$360/week – $60/day per diem (assuming 6 nights away from home)
Total: $87,360/year (this excludes any bonus, medical premium subsidies, or retirement contributions you will earn from us)
The work is consistent all year, so if you’re looking for steady work, you get that with us. You can really save a lot of money with this kind of arrangement since your lodging is directly billed to ICOP, and you’re getting a per-diem for food.
Essential Job Functions:
- Under the general supervision of a Foreman, applies skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of services and systems to ICOP’s specifications.
- Performs inspection of engineering drawings and confirms each installation is marked on the project site.
- Tracks and documents each installation on a clipboard to ensure that the installation of the product is completed.
- Measures the distance of drilled holes and signals to the equipment operator when the ideal depth has been achieved.
- Enters daily progress in laptop each evening for PMs review.
- Completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection activities.
- Experience in this job is a prerequisite to be considered for a Foreman role.
Requirements
- Preference given to candidates who have a technical college degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or Environmental Science, or 1 year of experience in a QC role within the construction industry.
- Willingness to travel for a project two weeks at a time with a trip home every other weekend. This job is for the “road warrior” who enjoys travel and field construction work.
- Reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and a valid driver’s license required
- Computer proficiency – Intermediate level and attention to detail expected to avoid errors in calculation and input into the computer
- Must have authorization to work within the U.S.
