Overview
Aaron Thomas Company is a contract packager specializing in foods and nutritional supplements. Our team of Quality Control Inspectors play a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. In this energetic and detail-oriented position, you will be responsible for inspecting products, components, and verifying adherence to strict quality systems. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Interprets client’s specifications, schematic diagrams, weights, or formulas and confers with management to determine quality and reliability standards
- Select products for tests and inspections at specified stages in production process
- Test products for variety of qualities such as package film seal strength, part numbers and overall appearance characteristics, moisture of product, and additional testing required by client
- Record test and inspection data, applying statistical quality control procedures using simple inspection tools such as weight scales
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment and component capability
- Approve/reject product, processes, specifications, procedures, controls, tests, results and deviations
- Approve test results
- Determining if specifications are met at In-coming, In-process, Final Product
- Reviewing and approving documentation, documentation practices and revisions
- Conduct organoleptic testing and record the result(s)
- Perform Sanitation and other tests such as protein, gluten, food contact surfaces, as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have a least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work around all 9 major allergens
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel/Spreadsheets, etc)
- Basic Email communication skills
- The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms
- The employee occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, talk, hear, taste and smell
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
- English and Spanish (Preferred)
- Previous experience working in food manufacturing, preferrably in Quality Control/ Assurance (not required)
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
